Cold Heading of Stainless Steel SEMS Fastener for the Automotive, Appliance & Medical Industries

A customer approached Jeffrey-Jae Company, Inc. because one of their SEMS machine screws designed for a high-vibration Zero Defect application was "backing-out" post assembly. At Jeffrey-Jae we are all about solving our client's problems in an expedient and cost-effective manner. In this case, we decided to manufacture a standard machine screw to which we attached a proprietary conical lock-washer and an adhesive patch to assist in anchoring the problem part. Then we passed the finished product through our Zero Defect accuracy procedure. We now supply several versions of this part ranging from SEMS machine screws through thread forming/cutting screws; utilizing stainless steel as well as cold-rolled steel as a manufacturing media. All configurations are offered with the adhesive patch.
